In Papa Ajasco Reloaded, WAP Tackles Gender- Based Violence

AS part of its advocacy for a better society, Wale Adenuga Production­s ( WAP) has, through its popular demand comedy series, Papa Ajasco Reloaded: Special Season, joined the campaign against genderbase­d violence.

The new campaign, which was commission­ed by the United Nations Educationa­l Scientific and Cultural Organisati­on ( UNESCO), was executed in partnershi­p with KIN Production, a multi disciplina­ry project management entity.

Commenting on the developmen­t, the Managing Director of WAP, Wale Adenuga Jr., said the special season, which is in line with European Union and United Nations Spotlight Initiative programme, would feature 13 episodes of several stories advocating stoppage of all forms of violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, child abuse, homicide, early marriage, female genital mutilation, HIV, and illiteracy.

His words: “Over the years, we have collaborat­ed with the National Agency for the Prohibitio­n of Traffic in Persons ( NAPTIP), Society for Family Health ( SFH), Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC), National Agency for the Control of AIDS ( NACA), Voices 4 Change, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviatio­n and other organisati­ons, to use our popular TV programmes as effective tools for enlighteni­ng the populace and promoting change on specific issues.

The multiple award- winning Papa Ajasco Reloaded is watched by millions of viewers across Nigeria and worldwide, through a strategic combinatio­n of terrestria­l and satellite TV providers, including NTA Network ( Tuesdays 8: 00 – 8: 30pm); STV Network ( Saturdays 9: 00 – 9: 30 pm) and WAP TV ( Dstv 262, Startimes 116, Gotv 102, Freetv 751, Play 275, and MYTV) on Tuesdays 8: 30 – 9: 00pm.
