The Living God Is Among His Chosen People

Joshua 3: 9- 10, “And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the Lord your God. 10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Can

- Sister Chizobam Okafor, Okota, Lagos State.

THeway the Israelites defeated the original habitants of the Promised Land and occupied it showed that God will never allow His people to wander about and suffer indefinitely; there must be an intervention to bring succour into their lives. Despite the fact that they passed through untold hardship in the hands of their Egyptian taskmasters, when they eventually left Egypt, many nations challenged them in the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land. In every situation of difficult hurdle to cross, God had ever proved Himself to them. Immediately after crossing River Jordan, the next task was driving the inhabitants of the land of Canaan to occupy it. It was then the leading scripture was spoken by Joshua to encourage and strengthen the people, proving to them that God is with them and will never leave His people in the enemy’s hands.

He has proven Himself and His power in several occasions and encounters in the past, even in the course of the wilderness journey to the Promised Land. When the Red Sea formed a barrier to their movement and the Egyptians were pursuing behind to attack them, Moses told them that God would fight for them and God actually intervened. In Exodus 14: 10- 16, the Bible proved God is with His chosen people saying, “And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. 11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, standstill, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” God has continued to prove to the Israelites that He is with them and ready to always fight their battles. He divided the Red Sea for them to pass on dry ground, but when the attackers, the Egyptians followed suit, the water closed on them and all of them drowned in the sea. That was a sure proof the living God was with them and is still among His people He has chosen to serve Him. God will continue to give protection to the people He has chosen to serve Him. He does not renege on His promise. God chose them as special people and has also chosen all the Christians of today, who serve Him with all their heart. He made it clear in John15: 16, saying, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” God chose Abraham and blessed him. Our Lord Jesus Christ called the early disciples and used them to do miracles among the people. What He did in the past He still has the power and the resources to do it again because he remains the same from generation to another. In Hebrews13: 8 the Bible says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Our Lord Jesus Christ is always out to defend His people, to ensure the preaching of the gospel continues. The early disciples were persecuted in many ways. At a particular time, while

Apostle Peter and some other disciples were detained in prison for teaching in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit went and released them, ordering them to continue preaching the gospel in the name of Jesus. They went into the temple teaching, when they were re- arrested and brought before the Sanhedrin, the highest decision- making body, comprising the high priest and other reputable men in Israel. Their intention was to kill them, when one of them called Gamaliel, a respected teacher of the law, counseled them to be careful with the disciples. He gave example of people that had risen in the past, claiming to have come from God, but when they were killed, their followers scattered. He added that if the gospel of Jesus Christ is from God, they could not stop it. Rather, they will find themselves opposing God. No man can stop the preaching of the Word of God. Oppositions have risen several times against my ministry, the Lord’s Chosen. Some even decreed total extermination, but God is with us; hence, no man can stop the Word of God from being preached to the people or oppose any man God is using. It has been proved by signs and wonders and through testimonies of acts of God that the living God is with us.

When God is with a people, He answers their prayers and defends them in times of danger. That is why the Bible says in Psalm 50: 15, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

God answers the prayers of the people that serve Him, as that is a proof He is with them. There is no impossibility with God, as He has the power to do all things. Whatever be your need, believe the living God is with you; cry unto Him for your needs, and He will give answers to your problems. It is also important to understand that for God to be with anyone, such a person must be born again, serving God in holiness and righteousness. As you do that, when you call on God, He will answer your prayers in Jesus name!

Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing Saved From Fire Accident, Giving Opens Door To Great Riches

MY name is Sister Chizobam Okafor. I reside at Okota in Lagos State. I joined Chosen in 2005. I want to thank God for making my family and I Chosen. I thank God for delivering my husband and I from a fire accident. The incident happened as soon as we returned from our journey to the East. Because of the stress of the journey, when we got home, we were so tired that we slept off. We actually moved into the building three months before the fire accident. While we were sleeping, I started perceiving smoke, and I was too tired to wake up. At a time, however, a voice just told me to wake up and I did. When I woke up, I saw fire in our room, and the fire had burnt the curtain and it was burning the bed. I woke my husband with force, but he didn’t get up. So, I rushed to take the other curtain at the other end and quenched the fire. There was smoke everywhere in my room. Again, I tried waking my husband up, but he was acting dizzy. So, I dragged one of his legs from the bed till he fell down on the floor. When he fell down, I held him, and he then managed to stand up. I was telling him what was happening, but he was acting dizzy. I held him and took him to my room. When he got there, he laid down on the bed and continued sleeping. I was astonished by the way he acted. At a time, I left him and started praising God, and then I slept back. Early in the morning around 5 a. m., I woke him up and explained everything that happened. I took him to our room, and as we entered, he shouted Jesus! It happened that our air conditioner caught fire, and from there, it went to the curtain. After burning it, it then went to the bed. It was exactly the position where he was lying down that the fire was burning. I really thank God for delivering us from that fire accident. May His name be exalted forever in Jesus name!

In addition, I thank God for restoring my family losses.

When we recently joined this ministry, it happened that my husband lost everything he had in 2004/ 2005. I joined Chosen in 2005 ending, and I encouraged my husband to join me. They had told us in our former church to bring 30 candles, so that prayers could be made for us. And each candle cost N1, 000. My husband would struggle to get the money and after prayer, it was all to no avail.

When I joined this ministry and saw what God is doing here, I decided in my heart that this is where I will belong. I kept persuading my husband to come with me. Whenever the Pastor called for pledge, I would call him to go and pledge any amount or send him a text message. Sometimes after church service, I would buy magazines and after getting home, I would show him testimonies of those who pledged and how God blessed them mightily. I continued that way, and with time, my husband became a giver in this ministry. From 2006 to 2008, my husband was blessed mightily, so much so that his family didn’t know he had losses in 2004. Today, my husband has six buildings in Lagos, three- storey building in Onitsha and a marvellous presidential house, with which the Lord blessed us in the village. I appreciate God for this. May His name be glorified forever in Jesus name!

Lastly, I want to thank God for delivering me from jewelries business. When I joined Chosen, our General Pastor was always preaching about it and I felt guilty, and became uncomfortable. My elder sister, who is a worker in this church, told me that if I didn’t stop selling jewelries, she would stop visiting me in my shop. I was not happy with the business, but I don’t know how to stop it, because it was much. There was a night I had a revelation that I was trying to go and meet people who were praising God. Then one hefty black man blocked me and said, “Go back with your jewelries.” I was struggling to go back, but the bridge collapsed, and I saw myself falling into the sea, and then I woke up. Naturally, I am aqua phobia. So, fear gripped me, and my heart was beating fast. When I got to shop that morning, I packed all the jewelries and threw them away. People were like I should sell them or give it to others, but I said no.

That was how I stopped the jewelries business. I had N50, 000 with me. So, I went to Lagos Island and bought clothes. My husband came to my shop on a fateful day and he was like, ‘ you will tell me where you kept the money I gave you to start a business. Fear gripped me that day, but I prayed and told God to make a way for me, since He is the One that told me to quit that jewelries business. God did it, as He blessed me from one shop, I got another, and now, I have the third one and a shop costs one million Naira plus. From 2016 to 2019, I acquired three shops. I thank God for everything, for blessing me, transforming me and delivering me from attachment and weave- on.

I pray for our General Pastor and his family, all the Chosen pastors and members worldwide. Heaven at last in Jesus name.

Praise the Lord!

“3. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4. And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 9. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery:
