Al- Hujaaj builds mosque in memory of late mother

A200 million- naira ultra modern Mosque has been commission­ed for prayers and Islamic knowledge learning in Ajegunle.

The Mosque complex was sponsored by the chairman of foremost Hajj operator company, Al Hujjaj Internatio­nal Tour and Travels, Alhaji Abdul Jeleel Animashaun in memory of his late mother, Alhaja Nimotallah­i Animashaun.

The mosques built as Zadakatul Jariah was commission­ed by the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr. Obafemi Hamsat and her Ogun state counterpar­t Alhaja Naimot Salako Oyedele, with the support of notable Ulamas in the Southwest of the country .

The two- storey mosque has capacity to accommodat­e over 200 worshipper­s.

Speaking at the inaugurati­on of the mosque, Alhaji Abdul Jeleel Animashaun said: “This is the fourth mosque built purely for the service of Allah. Two in Lekki, one in Surulere and now we are here again in Ajegunle in memory of my late mother Alhaja Nimatallah­i Animashaun. We will continue to do our best in the service of Almighty Allah and we pray Allah accepts it as act of ibadah. Amin,” he said.

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hamzat congratula­ted the ummah for having another magnificen­t place of worship. He added that the mosque complex, which also houses Darul Falah Arabic and Islamic Studies would not only help to engage the young Muslims in acquiring knowledge of the Quran but would also assist in reducing crime rate in the society.

Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs ( NSCIA), Alhaji Abdulrazak Oladejo remarked that the mosque a hub for spiritual and social activities will bring together Muslims from different background­s in the worship of Allah.

He called on the Imam, Sheikh Musa Agboola to use the masjid to foster unity of Muslims in the area.

Alhaji Oladejo, who is also the President of Muslim Ummah of South west Nigeria, MUSWEN, said: “Mosques are not individual ventures. Anyone who built a mosque did it for Allah’s sake and for the use of the Ummah.”

Among eminent Islamic scholars that witnessed the official commission­ing are internatio­nal preacher, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, Mudir, Markaz Arabic and Islamic Institutio­n, Agege, Sheikh Habeebulla­h Adam Al- Ilory, Imam Gbajabiami­la who represente­d the Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaiman Abuo Nolla, Sheikh Musa Agboola, Chief Imam of Badagry, Sheikh Abdul Hakeem Ishola Uwais Akewusola, Sheikh Abdullah Gbade Akinbode among other eminent scholars. While Sheikh Muhydeen Bello delivered the lecture of the day, Sheikh Habeebulla­h Adam Al- Ilory, led the Jumaat prayer.
