TOwardsensuring that women, girls and babies stay confortable, Goonite Hygiene Product is set to expand its operation in Nigeria as it unveiled its brand ambassador, a renowned actress, Destiny Etiko for its two leading brands Besense Sanitary Pads and Lebrace Diapers.

The firm also rewarded winners in the recently conducted Lebrace Baby Competition.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony and media briefing in Lagos, the Managing Director, Goonite Hygiene, John Jiang, said the firm began operation in Nigeria in 2020, producing diapers, sanitary pads and other hygiene- related products for women and children.

He added that the brands would be playing major roles in the lives and lifestyles of Nigerians by giving back to the economy, orienting young females on the do’s and don’ts of feminine hygiene, as well as ensuring their comfort and well- being as they go about their

day- to- day lives.

“We want Nigerians to know we care about them; because we do. Everyone wants to feel comfortable, and we are ensuring we give that to them in all the best ways we can through our wellthought products and our free gifts, which are intended to communicate our message of love and care.”

According to Jang, the firm launched its first sets of products in 2021. “It took us about a year and half to make the preparations done and get everything right and ensure it was done smoothly and meet the requirements of the concerned regulatory organisations in Nigeria,” he added.

The newly unveiled brand ambassador, Etiko, announced that she would readily use her platforms to erase the longstanding shame surrounding the menstrual period amongst female children in schools.

“Female children still find it difficult to discuss their periods with their parents, let alone their peers. To this effect, she noted that female- child education on eliminating the shame and reluctance surrounding the topic of menstruation will be on her top priority,” Etiko said.
