TWENTY- three- year- old undergraduate of Federal University of Technology, Akure ( FUTA), Mojeed Adegoke, is in need of N12.5 million for a kidney transplant and treatment of other chronic ailments.

Adegoke is an app builder, working for Google, whose dreame is to be one of the best tech builders in Nigeria and Africa.

But his dream is threatened as sickness has derailed him for three years.

He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in 2021, after severe headaches, which has put on hold his final year project at FUTA.

According to ABUAD MultiSystem hospital in Ekiti State, Adegoke was on their facility on August 5, 2021 with complaints of recurrent headache and reduction in urine output of eight months duration.

The hospital said the examination at presentation of urine and blood tests and ultrasound scan results showed features suggestive of chronic kidney disease possibly secondary to Chronic Glomerulonephritis.

He was discharged to a haemodialysis clinic after sustained clinical improvement to continue thriceweekly dialysis on an outpatient basis on current medications.

On the projected cost of dialysis for six months, Adegoke is expected to continue three times weekly haemodialysis among others.

Speaking on his sick bed, Adegoke pleaded with Nigerians to come to his aid.

He lamented that the sickness has not only snatched his ambition in life, but rendered him vulnerable and depressed.

Adegoke said he needs all the support to live again and be useful to himself, his family, community and the nation.

The consultant Physician and Nephrologist at Afe Babalola University Hospital, Dr. S. O Oguntola, confirmed Mojeed’s case to The Guardian.

Financial assistance can be sent to his UBA account No. 2264680303. Name: Mojeed Olanrewaju Adegoke.
