CHAIRMAN, All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Kano State, Abdullahi Abbas, has said the party is poised to retain the state in the 2023 governorship election.

Speaking at the party’s gubernatorial campaign flagoff in Gaya, the chairman stated that nobody should think of defeating APC, being the ruling party in the state.

He said: “People are saying that I should stop saying the APC would capture Kano by hook or by crook. I want to tell this gathering that the APC would capture Kano by hook or crook. We have, today, demonstrated our resolve to win the election from top to bottom come 2023.

“Gaya, as you know, is the home of APC. No political party can match our strength and clout. We are determined to take the bull by the horns in maintaining our dominance. Gawuna is our candidate and he is going to be the next governor of Kano.”

The party’s gubernatorial candidate, who is also the

GDeputy Governor, Nasiru Gawuna, said he was fully prepared for the battle ahead, with the firm support of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and all those calling the shots in the party. ANDUJE, on his part, has cautioned residents of Gaya against voting any political party that will kill their new emirate.

Although Ganduje was not categorical about any party or individual, an opposition party in the state had faulted the establishment of the four new emirates and the deposition of former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) and the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Ganduje handed the warning while flagging off the APC gubernatorial campaign at Gaya.

The governor, who emphasised that Gaya, Rano, Bichi and Karaye emirates were created out of high demand and traditional history, warned against paving way for those who had faulted the establishment to gain power in Kano.
