For Xtreme, Versatility Is Major Tool For Sustainability In Showbiz

-

OLUWATOSIN Olajide Kupoluyi, popularly known as Xtreme, is a comedian, compere, actor and Filmmaker.

The King of Gigs and Lord of floors, as fondly called, is a graduate of International Relations from Lead City University, Ibadan, and holds a Masters degree in Diplomacy and Strategic Studies from the University of Lagos.

Tracing his journey into the entertainment industry, the thespian said, “I started my career in the church, first as a chorister, then my friends and folks realised I had a sense of humor and saw the potential of being the anchor of a church dinner event. Gradually, it turned out to be a big deal within and outside the church. This was in 2006.”

Reacting to how upcoming comedians turn down what they term small gigs/ events, Oluwatosin advised that no event is too small to be used to showcase and sell your talent as an entertainer.

“I don’t precisely attribute my rising career to a particular event, trend, skit, or show, because it’s the consistency that brought me this far; consistency in dominating the events hosting niche. Also, the passion to empty myself while I very much can drives me to take on new goals/ tasks like events hosting, acting, wedding MC amongst others.”

Xtreme has over the years grown his brand as far as being recognized, having hosted about 500 weddings and counting, excluding other gigs since 2006 when he started from the church. As an actor, his project, Chronicles of Solo, his first attempt at creating professional TV content, which got licensed to DSTV’S Africa Magic cable channel, is premised on the story of 2 live- in lovers and their wade through the journey of life and love. Also, Adventures of Solo, a non- chronological humor- based web- series painting ‘ Solo’ into multifaceted characters and unique situations runs on youtube.
