Deputy Senate President promises to use Yahoo boys to create jobs

- From Monday Osayande, Asaba

DSenate President and governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Delta State, Ovie Omo- Agege, has promised to engage Yahoo boys to develop apps that will create employment for youths.

Omo- Agege made the promise, yesterday, during APC ward- to- ward governorship campaign at OgwashiUku, Aniocha South Council of the state.

“We will set aside a budget for it, the state government will be a shareholder with interest of 40 per cent for government while the boys take 60 per cent. It is our belief that when we harnessed the potential and ingenuity of Yahoo boys by engaging them in the best positive ways, the police will not harass them, they will no longer be involved in vices. By so doing, we will be creating employment for our children,” he explained.

Omo- Agege, excited by the turnout of large party supporters, said contrary to insinuation that there was no APC in Delta State, the party is fully on ground and strongly united as one big family.

He alleged that the prosperity Governor Ifeanyi Okowa promised all Deltans in 2015 is only evident in the governor’s family, adding that the state government received over N2.8 trillion and another N340 billion from President Muhammadu Buhari and still went ahead to borrow over N400 billion with no meaningful projects to justify the amount the state received.

“Today all Deltans, including children unborn, owe the reckless borrowing by Okowa. Because of that, we, Deltans, are resolute and have agreed that we are not going to allow Okowa to have a third term through Sheriff Oborevwori,” he added.

He said all challenges, ranging from unemployment, youths unrest, women empowerment and elevation, and insecurity would be addressed if elected governor in 2023.
