‘ No Cause For Alarm Over Tinubu, Kwankwaso Parley In France’

Former Kano Governor Won’t Defect— NNPP

- From Sodiq Omolaoye, Abuja

THE New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP) has urged its supporters not to worry over recent meeting between the President- elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its party presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The party assured party faithful that Kwankwaso wouldn’t defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC).

Speaking at a press conference, yesterday, in Abuja, its National Publicity Secretary, Major Agbo, insisted that there was nothing wrong with their meeting in Paris,

France.

It would be recalled that Tinubu and Kwankwaso allegedly met for hours in France, discussing a widerange of issues.

The development has continued to raise dust and has become a subject of interest across the country, especially among the politicians.

Agbo described Kwankwaso as a detribalised politician with friends across political divides.

He said: “Politicians are always divided during the campaigns After campaigns, we should come together. This is what is killing us in Africa. Go to advance countries, people are divided temporarily during campaigns, and after the campaigns, the agenda becomes one. That is loyalty to the country.

“Kwankwaso is one man who has had stint with some of these political parties in the past. His friends are still there. Our presidential candidate believes in the party. I don’t want you to be afraid that he is going anywhere. He is not. He is one man whose relationship cuts across all political platforms. You will see more of that…”

He said the electoral victory of Kano State governor- elect, Abba Kabir and his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, would usher in a new dawn. He tasked the new administration in Kano State to re- enact Kwankwaso’s era in the state, which was characterised with reforms, development and provision of infrastructure, agriculture, education, transportation, health, housing, security, sports, wealth creation and social amenities.
