Mmotor parks in Ibadan the capital of Oyo State, including two Bus Terminus at Ojoo and Challenge, were shut down, yesterday, on the directives of Governor Seyi Makinde.

This is coming barely 24 hours after the governor announced the dissolution of the Park Management System ( PMS) and the sack of Mukaila Adeyemo, aka Auxiliary, who was until his removal on Monday, the chairman of the transport management system in the state.

The parks were also manned by armed security agents, including officials of Amotekun, who disclosed to The Guardian that they were acting on the directives of the governor.

Findings revealed that part of the agreement Makinde had with all the stakeholders that supported him to have a successful second term, was to curb the excesses of Auxiliary, who had turned himself into a terror, especially in Ibadan.

After his victory, Makinde had tried to unite members of the PMS, headed by Auxiliary and the rival group, National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW), but Auxiliary and his gang refused, frowning that the

NURTW did not participate in support of Makinde during the electioneering period and therefore “cannot be a beneficiary of the victory.” The PMS gang became so audacious to the extent of attacking members of the NURTW, who were invited on the order of Makinde to the inauguration ceremony held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium formerly known as the Liberty Stadium on Monday. It was also confirmed that the PMS members went as far as challenging the governor’s authority by attacking NURTW at another location where they were all invited to celebrate Makinde’s re- election.
