FEGOCOSSA holds first sports fiesta in Ibadan

THE Old Students Associatio­n of the Federal Government College, Ogbomoso ( FEGOCOSSA), will hold its maiden sports fiesta on January 27 at Adamasingb­a Stadium, Ibadan.

The associatio­n’s head, Technical, Abdulmalik Adigun, said Adamasingb­a Stadium was chosen as the venue of the event because it mirrors the excellence the associatio­n represents.

He disclosed that the organisers have also partnered with health practition­ers to offer a healthy and safe environmen­t during the event.

The maiden sports fiesta, with the theme: “Bridging the Bond,” he added, will be anchored by the associatio­n’s sports team. Adigun, who said the event is not merely a sporting event, disclosed that there is a deliberate effort to mend fractures and reignite the flame of love, peace, and unity.

Adigun said: “Sporting events lined up include football matches between houses, novelty matches between 80s and 90s set, athletics, aerobics, table tennis and ‘ Ayoo Logan,’ among others.

“The event will also feature a showcase of an amazing line- up of DJS and up and coming talents within members of the associatio­n to display their musical prowess and also provide a platform for networking among members of the associatio­n and other guests.

“The associatio­n not only wants to celebrate athletes, but also leave an enduring mark in the city and it is, hereby, inviting all members of Federal Government College Ogbomoso Old Students Associatio­n ( FEGOCOSSA), All Unity Schools Old Students Associatio­n ( USOSANS), non- members of unity schools within Ibadan and across the globe to join her as she creates a memorable history.’’
