No Truth In Actress Ngozi Ezeonu's Death

THERE is no truth in the viral news that light has dimmed on notable Nollywood actress, Ngozi Ezeonu. The 58- year- old veteran actress had in a video shared via Instagram during the week, debunked the viral report on Facebook about her death and declared that she's alive and healthy. The star of Glamour Girls faulted the viral report even as she clarified that whoever reported her death mischievou­sly assumed that the Facebook post she made about a dear friend she lost was about herself. The Anambra native clarified that the image of the burning candle she shared on her social media handles was for her friend whom she lost. According to the actress: “The calls I ve been receiving have been very worrisome. I don t know why anybody should take my post. I lost a very close friend of mine, I posted a candle, a half- burnt candle and they now put my picture on that candle and everybody is saying that I died. It is wrong. I am alive and healthy, please." Ezeonu who studied journalism at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism ( NIJ) also said “in journalism, what you do when in doubt you leave out. If you cannot get across to the person to at least confirm the story, you don t post. Don t do that, please. Don t try it again. This is a new year, why would anybody want to hurt someone. Please I am alive and healthy .
