Stop attacking Aiyedatiwa, let him work, ex- minister tells politicians

• Seeks urgent attention on arterial roads in Ondo • Urges peace ahead of November governorship polls

- Adewale Momoh,

AFrom FORMER AttorneyGeneral of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Adetokunbo Kayode, has appealed to politicians in Ondo State to cease all forms of calumny against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and allow him to focus on good governance of the state.

He also urged everyone in the state, particularly stakeholders, to embrace peace ahead of the November governorship election.

The former minister, who spoke, at the weekend, urged Aiyedatiwa to remain undeterred by distractions and maintain his focus on advancing the developmental agenda of the state, as well as building on the initiatives of his deceased boss, the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. Kayode, a former Minister of Defence, who called for a shift towards a development- oriented discourse, stressed that the appalling state of arterial roads across the state must be given urgent attention.

He said: "Allow Governor

Aiyedatiwa to breathe. Allow him to settle down to work for our children and our elders. Allow him to continue where our late beloved governor stopped.

"The state and its people stand to gain nothing but pain, poverty, and penury if this incendiary politics of selfishness, hate, aggravation and deception continues. "He ( Aiyedatiwa) should not yield to the deliberate distraction. He must follow Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who despite onslaughts from left and right, continues to push his development agenda.

"Please concentrate on immediate issues like settlement of pending arrears of salaries and pensions, and I note with gladness that something is being done on these.

"Critical arterial roads in virtually every senatorial zone of the state require very urgent attention. We urge the governor to look at these urgently.”
