NPVNBO commends Tinubu for renewing TANTITA pipeline contract

-

NATIONAL Probity and Value for Nation Building Organisation ( NPVNBO) has commended President Bola Tinubu for renewing the pipeline surveillance contract of TANTITA Security Company.

The organisation gave the commendation through its spokesperson, Adewale Balogun, who applauded the fight against crude oil theft.

It lauded, particularly, the arrest of the vessel, MT KALI, and its crew by TANTITA, a security company, which belongs to Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo. TANTITA carried out the arrest with Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) at the Pennington Oil Field in Bayelsa State.

The group also noted that MT KALI had used Pennington Oil Field in Bayelsa State as its choice destination for stealing crude oil, noting that the vessel had stolen about 200,000 litres of crude oil and could do more damage to the nation’s economy and environment.

It commended Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to salvaging the country from the brink of economic and security collapse and called on Nigerians to support him.

It also acknowledged contributions by former President, Muhammadu Buhari, in the fight against crude oil theft at a time the nation’s hydrocarbon output had suffered immensely from criminal assaults.

Balogun hailed T ANTITA and the NNPCL, particularly, “for the courageous, effective and reliable services they have offered to protect the nation’s hydrocarbon assets from the criminal activities by crude oil thieves,” saying the successes recorded thus far include the arrest of MT KALI, which is about the seventh of such vessels engaged in crude oil theft; helping production to rise from about 500,000 barrels of crude oil to about 2,000,000 barrels a day.

The statement lists some of the benefits of the pipeline surveillance to also include the return of Nigeria to number one position in the OPEC production quota for Africa.

Other benefits, he said, include: “Increased forex earnings for the Federal Government of Nigeria because of increase in crude oil production and equipping the Federal and state governments with the needed financial wherewithal to finance development projects and securing the social contract with the citizenry.

“A gradual return of investors’ confidence in the oil and gas sector and cleaner and resuscitating environment as it is being attested to by the people in the oil- producing communities in the Niger Delta.”

It also said TANTITA surveillance activities had led to a great drop in crime rate in Niger Delta, as many youths are now engaged by the company.
