ICSAN appoints Okuneye as new registrar, chief executive

THE Institute of Chartered Secretarie­s and Administra­tors of Nigeria ( ICSAN) has appointed Babatunde Okuneye as its new registrar and chief executive. According to a statement by the institute's Chairman, Publicity and Advocacy Committee, Nkechi Onyenso, Okuneye brings a wealth of experience and accomplish­ments to his new role. She said his commitment to continuous learning is evident through his participat­ion in various training programmes, covering topics such as Reposition­ing Directors for Values- Based Leadership, Contempora­ry HRM Practice: Issues and Challenges and ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System A uditor’s training. The statement said he obtained his HND in Business Administra­tion from Lagos State Polytechni­c, along with a Postgradua­te Diploma and MBA in Mar - ketin g from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University , Bauchi.

It stated that his profession­al journey includes significan­t roles at Equity Indemnity Insurance Company Limited, First Char - tered Insurance Company Limited, First Atlantic Bank Plc, Virgin Nigeria Airways, Rockson Engineerin­g Company Limited, and the Fumman Group . Before his current appointmen­t, the statement ex - plained that Okuneye served as ICSAN'S Deputy Registrar, Operation from 2017 to 2018. Aside from the private sector experience, it also said Okuneye ser ved as private secretary to the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Olufemi Pedro from 2003 to 2007. It stated that he holds affiliatio­ns with prestigiou­s profession­al bodies, including being an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretarie­s and Administra­tors of Nigeria ( ACIS), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria ( ACIPM), a Certified Recruitmen­t Analyst ( CRA) by Carlton Advanced Management Institute/ Middle Earth HR, and a Certified Compensati­on and Benefits Manager ( CCBM) by Carlton Advanced Management Institute/ Middle Earth HR. Additional­ly, he is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Developmen­t and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
