After this confessional and pathetic sentence from the kingpin, Dr. Williams didn’t say a word. HE was still not strong to do anything and he wondered at the kindness and large- heartedness of the Medical Director in the person of Dr. Ayo Williams. Shaking and trembling on his sick bed, Agbako the lion began a confessional and touching statement in the presence of the doctor.

“If my soothsayers, juju men and marabouts had told me this would happen to me I wouldn’t have believed them,” he lamented softly, “how could I have punished a man in the face of death, with guns and even rob him of his hard- earned money and he still made sure I live, is a big mystery to me! I am guilty even before being sentenced in the court of law… please forgive me… doctor… that is all I can say…” After this confessional and pathetic sentence from the kingpin, Dr. Williams didn’t say a word. He drew the attention of the crack team of police officers on ground and they handcuffed Agbako the lion and took him to police custody. Agbako later confessed and exposed the hideout of his notorious armed robbery gang. The other members of his gang were rounded up and arrested immediately.

Exactly three weeks later, they appeared in the court of law and justice was served on them as the elderly and bespectacled judge Gbolahan Anifowoshe, wasted no time in sentencing them to life imprisonment with hard labour. They were to serve their prison terms at the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons. The guilty and sinner would never go unpunished.

Whatever you sow is what you will reap. The omnipresent and omniscient eyes of God could reach everywhere and sees everything humans are doing in this whole wide world. So, one must be careful and steer clear of criminal and unGodly activities.

Tears may last for the night but joy will surely come in the morning. Really, Doctor Williams faced a most turbulent and harrowing experience in the hands of those armed robbers but at the end God further proved He was in control and on the throne.

Life is a continuous battle and only the faithful, courageous and strong in spirit would overcome the turbulent storms of life. May the omnipotent God help us.
