NIA pledges mentorship, integratio­n of architectu­re students

THE Nigerian Institute of Architects ( NIA) has reiterated commitment towards mentoring and integratin­g architectu­re students into its folds to promote talents and enhance profession­alism.

NIA President, Mrs Mobolaji Adeniyi, stated this when the architectu­re students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife paid her a visit in Ibadan. She disclosed that the institute embraces inclusivit­y and mentorship that will inspire architectu­re students, adding that NIA will continue to demonstrat­e the important relationsh­ip between the younger generation and the leadership of the institute. She said: "This visit served as a testament to our administra­tion's unwavering dedication to forging a deeper connection with the emerging architects of tomorrow. Far more than a mere gesture, the visit exemplifie­d the authentic love and care that our administra­tion extends to the promising talents in architectu­re."

During this interactiv­e session, I shared invaluable insights and experience­s, emphasisin­g the critical role of fully integratin­g students into the NIA as active members. According to her, the institute believes that cultivatin­g a collaborat­ive and mentorship- driven environmen­t is pivotal to the growth and developmen­t of architectu­re students, empowering them to evolve into future leaders of the profession.

"This engagement aligns with our administra­tion's steadfast inclusivit­y and mentorship agenda geared towards fostering a more supportive architectu­re community. As the NIA continues to bridge the gap between seasoned profession­als and aspiring architects, the institute is dedicated to shaping a vibrant and cohesive architectu­ral family.

“With great anticipati­on, the institute looks forward to nurturing the next generation of architects and creating a legacy of excellence in the architectu­ral realm," she said.

Also, President of the Ife Architectu­re Students' Associatio­n, Tim OjoIbukun, led 34 other members to participat­e in a special interactiv­e session.
