AXXELA Limited ( Axxela) has joined the United Nations ( UN) Global Compact in promoting sustainability, commitment to socially responsible living and positive impact on the world.

The UN Global Compact urges companies worldwide to harmonise their activities and plans with 10universally accepted principles relating to human rights, labour, environment and anti- corruption.

Also, it encourages them to actively contribute to UN objectives and initiatives outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGS). Speaking at the signing of the letter of commitment, Axxela’s Chief Executive Officer, Bolaji Osunsanya, expressed satisfaction in joining the UN Global Compact, highlighting that the company’s involvement reflects a commitment to maintaining the ethical business practices they have consistently upheld. He expressed their company's belief that fostering positive change starts with a strong dedication to a globally inclusive and sustainable economy as the collaboration acts as a foundation to work towards the goal.

"As a participant of the initiative, Axxela is committed to the 10 principles of UN Global Compact and we will continue to ensure that the thematic areas remain a key part of our strategy in order to improve our sustainability story," he said.

Board member of UN Global Impact Network Nigeria, Ayotola Jagun, said Axxela’s onboarding was commendable based on the company’s countless contributions to sustainability.

She mentioned that launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 15,000 companies and 3,000 non- business signatories based in over 160 countries and more than 70 local networks.
