2023 - Nigeria
The latest corruption ranking data released by Transparency International showed Nigeria dropped to 150 in rank against 180 countries. The 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index ( CPI), as seen on the global movement’s official website, showed that most countries of the world are failing to stop corruption. A total of 180 countries and territories worldwide were ranked by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, and Nigeria, under Pres. Muhammadu Buhari‘ s leadership, seemed to have failed again.

The last Boeing 747, the first wide- body airliner, was delivered.
• 2022 - Nigeria
The National Assembly transmitted the revised Electoral Act Amendment Bill to Pres. Muhammadu Buhari for assent. Clerk of the National Assembly, Olatunde Amos Ojo, forwarded the document to the president’s office in Aso Rock as Nigerians await the signing of the electoral bill ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The United Kingdom ( UK), finally officially left the European Union ( EU), putting an end to nearly 50 years ( 47 years) of integration with Europe in accordance with Article 50. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the country had “taken back control.”
• 2020 - USA
President of the United States of America, Donald Trump imposed an immigration visa ban on Nigeria and some other countries. The Wall Street Journal quoted Chad Wolf, acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, as saying the new immigration restrictions were designed to “address security concerns in the way the banned countries track their own citizens, share information with the U. S. and cooperate on immigration matters”.

Both a blue moon and a total lunar eclipse occured.
• 2009 - Kenya
In Kenya, 113 people were killed and over 200 injured following an oil spillage ignition in Molo, days after a massive fire at a Nakumatt supermarket in Nairobi killed 25 people
