OVER the next four months, millions of Nigerians and billions others in the world will witness talent mount the podium to compete in the Next Afrobeats Star ( NAS).

Following the advancemen­ts of Afrobeat s which was majorly inspired by the pioneer of Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo- Kuti i n the late 1960’ s has slowly made a name for itself in a somewhat incalculab­le list of recognitio­ns it has received so far with its roots coming from Nigeria.

Nigeri ans, creative as ever, who are constantly surviving the odds of the nation’s economy, have been firm believers in showcasing the parts of the country’s talents through the use of social media and for artistes, constantly putting out more projects all with a plan to hit the internatio­nal markets. With several success stories and refinement in the music industry, the dreams of an a verage Nigerian artiste have become a reality. But fans are worried about looking outwards at global accolades and western approval and asked about turning the global moment into sustainabl­e developmen­t at home, with this burning question, the Founder an d Chief Executive Officer of ULTIMA, Femi Ayeni, who has over 30 years’ experience in the media, telecommun­ications and banking industries, came up with NAS as a way to sustain and further promote Afrobeats. Prolific producers such as Temidayo Babatope Joseph, popularly known by his s tage name Puffytee, Osabuohein Osaretin, popularly known as “Sarz on the Beat”, Andre Vibez and P. Priime were unveiled as the judges of the new musical reality show. The winner of the competitio­n will ha ve a recording contract, a brand- new car and cash prize.
