OPS will spur economic diversific­ation, growth, says Oye

THE National President of the Nigerian Associatio­n of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agricultur­e ( NACCIMA), Dele Kelvin Oye, has said that Nigeria’s private sector will serve as the catalyst for economic diversific­ation and growth and the chamber is poised to bring this to fruition.

Speaking after the justconclu­ded Nigeria- India Business Summit held in Abuja, he said the summit was important to cement the growing strategic partnershi­p between two of the world’s most dynamic economies, Nigeria and India. Praising the Nigerian India Business Council ( NIBC) Nigeria, he said the NIBC put together the most significan­t business summit in collaborat­ion with the Nigeria India Business Council, India; NACCIMA and the Confederat­ion of Indian Industry ( CII), all in attendance. He further noted that the presence of key business figures highlighte­d the collective resolve of Nigeria’s captains of industry to foster bilateral ties.

“The attendance of top- tier government officials from various states spoke volumes of the political support for the initiative. They were joined by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka- Anite; Minister of Steel, Alh Shuaibu Abubarkar Audu; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola;

Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu and Minister of Foreign Affairs, all demonstrat­ing government’s commitment to nurturing an enabling environmen­t for business and investment. India’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr S. Jaishankar, signified the importance attached to this partnershi­p by both nations, with business leaders like Rekha Sharma of NIBC India and Khurshed Daruvala of the CII present as well.”
