• 2021 - Nigeria
Former Lagos State governor, Lateef Jakande, who died
Feb. 11 aged 91, was buried according to Islamic rites. The pre- burial prayers took place in his house at No. 2 Bishop Str. Ilupeju, Lagos.
• 2020 - Nigeria
Nigerian entertainment and music industry lost a legend in popular highlife trumpeter, Dr Victor Olaiya. This was confirmed by the managing director of the Evergreen Music Company, Bimbo Esho to which Olaiya was signed.
• Some residents of Maiduguri, Borno State capital, booed Pres. Muhammadu Buhari and his entourage during their visit to the state when the President paid a visit to sympathize with the family of those killed when Boko Haram terrorists attacked passengers in Auno, resulting in death of 30 persons while 18 vehicles were burnt. Immediately the president left, Boko Haram terrorists launched another daring attack on Jiddari Polo, a community in Maiduguri.

The country known as the Republic of Macedonia renamed itself the Republic of North Macedonia in accordance with the Prespa agreement, settling a longstanding naming dispute with Greece.

The trial of Slobodan Milošević, ex- President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, began at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. He died four years later before its conclusion.
