NADDC boss inspects Ado- Ekiti training centre

FOLLOWING the completion of the installati­on of equipment at the National Automotive Design and Developmen­t Council ( NADDC) Automotive Training Centre in Ado Ekiti, the Director General, NADDC, Joseph Osanipin, inspected the facility to ascertain the functional­ity of the equipment.

During his visit, Osanipin engaged in a dialogue with the Commission­er for Wealth Creation and Employment in Ekiti State, Fasae Kayode Omotayo.

Discussion­s centered on potential collaborat­ions aimed at enhancing the growth of the automotive industry.

Omotayo underscore­d the Ministry’s commitment to job creation and expressed gratitude to the federal government for its numerous initiative­s in the state, including the establishm­ent of the training centre. He emphasized the centre’s potential to empower individual­s through knowledge transfer and skill developmen­t.

Osanipin also emphasized the importance of empowering the youths, especially the automotive artisans through training in modern automotive innovation­s such as mechatroni­cs technology. He expressed the Council’s readiness to partner with private entities to invest in the Nigerian auto industr y, as well as effectivel­y manage skills developmen­t centers, thus contributi­ng to job and wealth creation.

The NADDC boss elaborated on the council’s industrial and skills developmen­t programmes to bridge the knowledge and skill gap in the industry. Some of such initiative­s include the Sector Skill Council and National Occupation­al Standard ( NOS), which are aimed at developing comprehens­ive training curricula and standards for the automotive sector in sync with internatio­nal best standards.
