LMS to unite automotive community, collectors
ONE of the organisers of the Lagos Motor Show, Gbenga Adebayo, has raised hope that the event would become the largest auto- industrysupported motor event in Africa.
Adebayo, Chairman and Chief Promoter, said the show is not just a display of classic cars but “also a charity event supported by stakeholders who generously contribute in various ways, as demonstrated by the dedicated house team.”
Addressing pressmen in Lagos, Adebayo described the show as an exhibition that will showcase modern, classic, vintage cars, ecofriendly EVS, robotics and autonomous vehicles, electric tricycles and emobility.
Adebayo explained that the event scheduled to take place on Friday, 16 February and Saturday 17 February at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos will also feature an exhibition of innovation and developments in the auto industry such as the Internet of Things ( IOT) in automobiles, energyefficient cars and compressed natural gas ( CNG)- powered lowemission vehicles.
He said the show which will be a yearly event will serve as an opportunity to engage with a diverse audience, including car enthusiasts, industry professionals, and potential buyers, offering brands the chance to connect with a broad range of demographics.
“The Show will offer an opportunity to interact with haulage, logistics, car hire companies, digital taxi companies, passenger transporters, financial institutions, Insurance, loans companies and other potential buyers and decision- makers,” he added.
According to him, the exhibition will be a double- edged purpose showcasing classic cars evoking ‘ nostalgia’ and also highlighting the latest trends and innovations in the automotive industry.
He emphasised the old memories that have shaped the technologies of today also deserve attention and preservation amidst the generation of classic cars and electric cars today and tomorrow.
Explaining the rationale for the choice of TBS, the promoter, Adebayo said the complex is historic in the history of governance as it depicts the earlier years of the country after independence.
