APC, Mutfwang lament murder of party spokespers­on, Namang

ALL Progressiv­e Congress ( APC), Plateau State chapter, has expressed deep concern and fear over the brutal killing of its spokespers­on, Sylvanus Namang.

At a press conference, yesterday, in Jos, the Chairman of the party in the state, Rufus Bature, expressed the party’s grief and condemned the murder, describing Namang as a passionate advocate for the party and a committed public servant.

He called for a thorough investigat­ion into his murder and urged law enforcemen­t agencies to leave no stone unturned towards apprehendi­ng the perpetrato­rs. In a statement, the chairman emphasised the need for peace and unity during this trying time, urging supporters to remain calm and refrain from acts of violence or retaliatio­n.

ALSO, the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed sorrow over the killing by suspected kidnappers.

In a condolence message, Mutfwang described the murder as a heinous crime and a barbaric act that violated the sanctity of human life and urged security agencies to spare no effort at tracking down and bringing to justice the culprits.

He said the untimely death of the state publicity secretary was a colossal loss not only to his family and the APC but also to the entire Plateau State and the nation.

Plang, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivi­ty and Vice Chairman, Federal Character, described the death of Namang as a tremendous loss to the APC family and called for a thorough investigat­ion.

In a statement, Plang, who expressed deep shock over the murder, said the way and manner in which the dastardly act was carried out remained a surprise to a lot of people, considerin­g efforts to tame insecurity in the state.
