Hoodlums murder 27- year- old man in Ogun

HOODLUMS have attacked and murdered a 27- year- old man along a secluded street at Isokan Estate, behind Premier Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State. The Guardian learnt that the victim, Toriola Tobi, was killed on February 29, at about 7: 00 p. m. According to eyewitness­es, the man was attacked and murdered as he walked alone on the street.

Confirming the incident, spokespers­on for Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, said the identity and details of the hoodlums who attacked and killed Toriola are not yet known.

According to her, the victim was injured after a scuffle with the unidentifi­ed individual­s, who then escaped the scene.

His remains have been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.

Odutola said: “Following informatio­n at the disposal of the Area Commander ( Metro) Abeokuta, as acknowledg­ed by the Divisional Police Officer of Ilupeju Division in the Sabo area of Ogun State, a case of murder was recorded. “The details are sketchy but the victim is Toriola Tobi, ‘ m’, 27. He was gruesomely murdered on February 29, 2024, at about 7: 00 p. m., while walking alone along a secluded street in Isokan Estate, behind the Premier Grammar School area.

“An investigat­ion has commenced into this killing and the Commission­er of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has directed that intelligen­ce be deployed to ensure the fleeing suspects are apprehende­d.

“The Ogun State Police Command, through community policing and covert operations, assures the public that the culprits will answer for this heinous crime. For the purpose of the security of life and property, the Commission­er of Police, hereby, calls on members of the public to volunteer credible informatio­n that will crack this case.”
