TERRORISTS have killed six persons, including the village head of Yan- Nasarawa community, Haruna Wakiki, in Faskari Local Council of Katsina State.

The attack, which reportedly occurred Monday night into the early hours of yesterday, also left 10 others with injuries.

A source from the area, who simply gave his name as Ibrahim, said many others, including women and children, were abducted by the hoodlums and moved into the forest.

Ibrahim said the actual number of those abducted was sketchy as at yesterday morning, but that the figure of those kidnapped was more than 12.

Lamenting that among those killed was a little boy, who was lynched while asleep, he said the terrorists set eight automobiles ablaze and razed more than 10 other houses. According to him, provision shops were set ablaze and valuables taken from some of the shops before they were set on fire .

Ibrahim added that the number of kidnapped residents would have been more, were it not for their quick escape into bushes.

When contacted, spokesperson for the police command in the state, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident, adding that security operatives had been dispatched to the community to restore normalcy.

“On February 19, 2024, about 11.30pm, bandits, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK- 47 rifles, attacked Nasarawa village, Faskari Local Council, where they shot and killed six persons, injured about 10 and set ablaze three houses and about 10 motor vehicles.
