Government to reform MDAS for ease of doing business
THE Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council ( PEBEC) will, in the next three months, work on a regulatory framework that will reposition the federal government’s ministries, departments and agencies ( MDAS) for improvement in ease of doing business.
PEBEC said yesterday that a 90- day Regulator y Reform Accelerator Action Plan has com - menced an active collaboration with different bodies.
Eight key i ndicators are being actively monitored through the scheme. The indicators are review and update on MDA service level agreements, MDA transparency reforms, MDA efficiency reforms, entry and exit ( airport) reforms, port operations reforms, the National Single Window Project, agro- export reforms and manufacturing for export reforms.
The plan will be implemented in close collaboration with stakeholders, and PEBEC will provide regular updates on the progress.
The regulatory reform is expected to deliver measurable growth across industries.
Special Adviser to the President on PEBEC and
Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, in a statement, said the 90- day accelerator would deliver a measurable export- focused impact for productivity and competitiveness across key sectors to improve the business environment and support the economic initiatives of the administration.
Oduwole said there was a need to approach the reform with a sense of urgency and purpose to rapidly improve Nigeria's business climate by collaborating with the private sector and demonstrating commitment to the overall well- being of Nigerians.
