FOR adhering to quality and best practices, the Management Systems Certification ( MSC) department of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria ( SON) has been granted accreditation by the International Accreditation Service ( IAS) in four critical areas.

They include the Quality Management System ( QMS) ISO 9001: 2015; Occupational Health and Safety Management System ( OHSMS) ISO 45001: 2018; Environmental Management System ( EMS) ISO 14001: 2015 and the Food Safety Management System ( FSMS) ISO 22000: 2018 respectively.

The remarkable accomplishment follows a rigorous assessment process conducted by IAS, verifying that the SON MSC department's operations and audits conducted by SON auditors, comprehensively meet the stringent requirements of international standards.

The Acting Director of the MSC department of the agency, Obiageli Egbuciem, an engineer, told Journalists, yesterday that the accreditation signifies the department's unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional quality in all its services, upholding the highest standards in occupational health and safety and minimising environmental impact through responsible practices and also ensuring food safety and quality across the supply chain as well as adhering to industry- leading benchmarks in the aerospace, defense, and transportation sectors

Egbuciem declared that the accreditation is a badge of honor for the SON in general and the department in particular.

She further stressed, “This accreditation not only recognises the efforts of the SON MSC department but also underscores the proficiency and expertise of SON auditors, whose meticulous evaluations played a significant role in achieving this milestone.
