Sanwo- Olu asks U. S., African multinatio­nals to explore investment opportunit­ies in Lagos

LAGOS State Governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu, has reiterated his administra­tion’s commitment to creating an attractive environmen­t for investment, particular­ly multinatio­nals from the United States and the rest of Africa.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Corporate Council on Africa, headed by its President/ CEO, Florie Liser, he highlighte­d Lagos’ readiness to embrace investment­s, encouragin­g both foreign and local investors to view the state as an appealing destinatio­n for investment. He underscore­d his government’s readiness to implement necessary actions to ensure a favorable business climate, aiming to make Lagos an attractive hub for investment opportunit­ies. Highlighti­ng his administra­tion’s alignment with the THEMES+ developmen­t agenda, he detailed how his government has created opportunit­ies in sectors like public transport, healthcare, education, technology and entertainm­ent. Sharing his enthusiasm for the upcoming inaugurati­on of the Red Line rail project, he expressed pride in being able to present the rail to the public, emphasisin­g its capacity to transport hundreds of thousands of commuters.

Responding, Liser affirmed the council’s eagerness to collaborat­e with the Lagos State Government across various sectors, including energy, infrastruc­ture, agricultur­e, technology, trade and finance. Lauding the governor’s accomplish­ments and highlighti­ng the administra­tion’s focus on fostering investment in fintech and healthcare; she extended an invitation to Governor Sanwo- Olu to speak at the CCA Africa business summit in Dallas, Texas, from May 6- 9, 2024.
