• World Tailors Day • 2022 - Nigeria

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, approved a new dress code for female police officers. Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the new dress allows female police officers to wear hijab and stud earrings while in uniform. Reacting to the developmen­t, Adegboruwa said the approval of a new dress code is illegal and unconstitu­tional. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria asserted that the IGP’S approval negates Section 10 of the 1999 constituti­on that stipulates the neutrality of government agencies in religious matters.

Thirty- two people were killed and 81 injured when gunmen opened fire on a ceremony in Kabul, Afghanista­n. The Islamic State claimed responsibi­lity for the attack
