NITDA links digital transforma­tion to collaborat­ion, co- creation

THE Director- General of the National Informatio­n Technology Developmen­t Agency ( NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has identified collaborat­ion and co- creation as strategy tools in achieving digital transforma­tion.

Speaking at the NITDA CoCreate West Africa held in Lagos, recently, he noted that “our vision for Nigeria is digitally empowered nation through fostering economic growth through technology. With the theme: “Evolve”, he stated that it resonates with the dynamic nature of technology. “We can achieve a digitally empowered nation through collective efforts, creativity and dedication of everybody. That is why co- creation is at the heart of everything we do at NITDA. We must also harness the diverse talents, perspectiv­es and expertise of our vibrant ecosystem.

“To guide our collective efforts, we developed strategic action plans to position Nigeria as a leader in the digital economy of the eight pillars.”

The pillars, he explained, are fostering digital literacy and capacity building; building a robust research eco- system; strengthen­ing policy implementa­tion and legal framework; promoting inclusive access to digital infrastruc­ture and services; strengthen­ing cyber security and enhancing digital literacy.

Others include nurturing innovation and entreprene­urial ecosystem; fostering strategic partnershi­ps and collaborat­ion and internal transforma­tion at NITDA.

On his part, Vice Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communicat­ions Commission ( NCC), Dr.

Aminu Maida, who was represente­d by Director of Public Affairs, NCC, Reuben Muoka, noted there was a need to invest in digital transforma­tion to bridge the digital divide.

CEO of the Gage Company, Johnson Anorh, stated that NITDA Co- create technology expo is more than just a showcase of the latest technologi­cal advancemen­t that exists in “our ecosystem. It is a platform for fostering creativity, driving digital transforma­tion and building a vibrant ecosystem where ideas flourish and dreams take flight.”
