Winners Of Dream Car Art Contest Emerge

TOYOTA by CFAO Nigeria has announced winners of its dream car art contest. At different ceremonies held on Wednesday, March 6 at the Toyota by CFAO offices on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, and Ndola Crescent, Wuse, Zone 5, Abuja, the ceremony celebrated creative exploits of young artists from across Nigeria.

Sulaimon’s Toyota Crocs Car and Olajuwonlo Aletanfor portrait, War Debris, recycling and constructi­on car, dominated the competitio­n by winning first place in Category 1 ( seven years or under), Category 2 ( eight – 11 years) and Category 3 ( 12 – 15 years) respective­ly.

The national contest, which ran from January 16 to February 16, 2024, attracted 2,700 entries from various regions in Nigeria, among which three participan­ts, from each entry category were selected as winners and entered as representa­tives of the country into the world contest to be held in Japan.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Managing Director, Toyota by CFAO, Boye Ajayi, said, “the national contest invited children from all corners of the country to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars. The artworks displayed at the ceremony not only showed the artistic prowess of Nigerian children, but also reflected their unique perspectiv­es on mobility, sustainabi­lity, and technologi­cal advancemen­t.

“Through their vibrant creations, these young artists showcased Nigeria’s potential as a hub of creativity and innovation in the automotive industry, and we, at Toyota, hope that this activity will help nurture the creativity of the next generation of great inventors, thinkers, and dreamers.

“Since 2004, the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has been conducted as part of Toyota’s social contributi­on initiative­s. In 2023 alone, there were about 780,000 entries from 90 countries and regions around the globe,” he said.
