My Music Transcends Borders, Cultures — Douye’

ANIGERIAN- BORN Jazz artiste, Miss Douye’ Youduba ( aka Douye’), says her musical inspiratio­n stems from her fans cuts across the globe. According to her, music remains a universal language that ‘ transcends boundaries and cultures’.

The United States- based musician, who hails from Bayelsa State, said: “Knowing that my music has touched someone’s life is my greatest reward. Life also inspires me in many ways. Whether it’s a beautiful song, a powerful emotion, or a profound moment of connection with another person, life always has something to offer that I can translate into music.” Youduba equally opined that “music is an instrument for a positive change in our society. Music is a vessel that can touch all hearts. It can be used to effect positive changes, adding: “I am a Nigerian- born jazz singer. I have gained recognitio­n worldwide for my soulful and melodic voice. I was born and raised in Nigeria. I was introduced to jazz music by my father at a young age. After moving to the United States, I began performing as a jazz singer in venues throughout California. I have released multiple albums, including “Journey,” “Quatro,” and “Daddy Said So,” which showcase my unique blend of jazz, soul, and pop music.

She continued: “My music has been praised for its emotional depth and powerful storytelli­ng. I have been recognised for my contributi­ons to the jazz genre.

In addition to my music career, I founded my own record label, Groove Note Records, and have spoken out about the importance of supporting fellow musicians in the music industry. Overall, I am a highly respected and recognised artiste in the world of jazz music, known for my powerful vocals and innovative approach to the genre.
