Tinubu Needs To Overhaul His Team For Thinkers, Doers To Come Onboard – Ex Presidenti­al Aide

FORMER Presidenti­al aide on National Developmen­t Matters during the Yaradua/ Jonathan era, Dr. Hassan Haman Ali- Yusuf, has called on President Bola Tinubu to overhaul his machinery and bring in seasoned experience­d technocrat­s to guide him towards successful politicale­conomy growth.

Ali- Yusuf, who served as special assistant on national developmen­t, pointed out that while the president’s current team isn’t so bad, the best of best are need to be on board to salvage Nigeria.

He maintained that elections are over and profession­als, doers, thinkers and experience­d vibrant hands should be stirring the ship of governance in the midst of severe economic challenges.

He pointed out that the “Rescue Nigeria Project” has to be handled with iron gloves and experience­d hands.

Recommendi­ng quick short and longer term measures to address security problems and the current economic situation, he outlined the importance of recruiting new hands immediatel­y and rejig the current machinery.

He emphasised the importance of the Federal Government engaging in a lot Public, Private Partnershi­p ( PPP) frameworks due to limited financial resources at government’s disposal.

He suggested privatisat­ion of Kaduna and Warri refineries.

He expressed how advanced sophistica­ted weaponry and hi- tech surveillan­ce can assist security forces in tackling insecurity.

He further called on Mr. President to declare a state of emergency in states that are security volatile if the need ever arises.

He cited how in developed countries, the entire machinery of the state is deployed to save animals/ pets in distress, while in Nigeria kidnappers are on a sprawl.

He stressed that to get state governors accountabl­e, the governors must know there would be dare consequenc­es in their states if there is a breakdown of law and order.
