CAN President, Ndukuba Urge Christians To Reflect On Christ’s Sacrifice

- From Nkechi Onyedika- Ugoeze, Abuja

THE President, Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, has called on Christians to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that Christ made for humanity by imbibing the virtues of humility, compassion and love for one another. He noted that the death and resurrection of Christ signi - fies the triumph of light over darkness.

In his Easter massage, yesterday, in Abuja, Okoh noted that the lessons of Easter hold particular relevance for Nigerian society today, adding that in a time marked by uncertainty, Nigerians should embodied the virtues of love for one another.

He stated that just as Christ's resurrection brought new life and hope to the world, in the same manner, the nation can rise above its differences and difficulties; and work towards a brighter future.

The CAN President urged leaders, at all levels, to heed the lessons of Easter and to govern with wisdom, fairness, and a genuine commitment to the common good.

He called on Nigerians to embody the spirit of Easter in their daily lives and to practice sacrificial love towards one another

Similarly , the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Ndagoso , has urged Christians to sustain the change of heart experienced during the Lent season in preparation for Easter by starting to build a new Nigeria. He stated that Nigeria today needs a radical change of structures, especially of governance adding that the task of Nigeria regaining its lost glory is one that is incumbent on all Nigerians.

According to him, the conversion undergone by Christians during Lent is expected to bear enduring fruits for the com - mon good of all Nigerians and beyond.

In his Easter Massage, yesterday, Ndagoso noted that, over the years, the political class has failed and betrayed the trust of the citizens.
