I5- year- old girl electrocuted in Ogun

FIFTEEN- year- old Miracle Ogbonna has reportedly being electrocuted while drawing water from a Well in Ogun State. The Guardian gathered that Miracle was tragically electrocuted by a naked cable of the pumping machine placed inside the Well.
According to police sources, the deceased went to the Well to draw water and in the process, power was restored by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company ( IBEDC).
Confirming the incident yesterday, spokesperson for Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, said: “A case of electrocution was reported to the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) of Lafenwa by one Onyekachi Silas, ‘ m’, at Olomore housing estate.
“Silas narrated to the DPO that his younger brother called him on phone that on Sunday, March 31, at about 11: 50p. m., one Miracle Ogbonna, ‘ f, 15, the younger sister to his brother’s wife living with them was electrocuted.
“He further stated that there was a power outage in the house, and Miracle went to the Well to draw water out. “In the process, power was restored by IBDEC. Miracle was tragically electrocuted by a naked wire of the pumping machine placed inside the Well.
“She was rushed to Rose Hospital, where the duty Doctor confirmed her death. “No further details yet about the negligent act of living a naked wire into a Well. Investigation has commenced and the deceased’s remains have been deposited at Oke Lantoro morgue,” Odutola added.
EANWHILE, Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of one Olumide Danisa in a shooting incident around the Somefun Ijeun Tuntun area of Abeokuta.
The Guardian gathered that the deceased was shot in the head by two gunmen who alighted from an unregistered ash- coloured Toyota Corolla vehicle and released shots while Olumide was sitting outside his house at about 7: 55p. m. on Sunday, March 31, and fled the scene. Spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, in a statement yesterday, said: Following a distress call received by the Ibara Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) that the community heard gunshots, the DPO raced to the scene and found a corpse later identified as Olumide Danisa Ifeloluwa “Tescom” on the pool of his blood lying lifeless.
“The victim was rushed to the State Hospital Ijaiye where the duty doctor confirmed him dead. His remains ha ve been evacuated to the Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“No arrest has been made, but the Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun has been briefed and he has directed the Area Commander Metro Abeokuta to commence a preliminary investigation,” she added.
