Weststar introduces all- new E- Class saloon

WESTSTAR Associates Limited, the authorized general distributor of Mercedes- Benz in Nigeria, has announced the arrival of the highly anticipated, allnew Mercedes- Benz E- Class. This iconic vehicle sets new standards in luxury and innovation, again bringing the legend and renowned heritage of the MercedesBenz brand to car lovers and enthusiasts in Nigeria.

The Mercedes- Benz E- Class is the epitome of meticulous craftsmanship and technological prowess, a harmonious blend of cutting- edge technology, exquisite design, and unparalleled performance. Just like its predecessor, the new E- Class promises to redefine the automotive landscape in Nigeria and provide an unrivaled driving experience. The E- class competes with brands like the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF, Volvo S90 and Range Rover Evoque.

The 5 Series is possibly the closest rival to the E- Class, and it was the most recent of the lot to get an update in India. BMW India launched the new facelifted version of the 5 Series in June 2021. The BMW 5 Series comes with a pair of 2.0- litre petrol and diesel engines and a bigger 3.0- litre diesel motor as well. All three engines get an 8speed automatic transmission.

While the Audi A6 was launched in India back in 2019 and it is one of the nicer luxury sedans you can buy at this price point. Unlike its rivals, the A6 is a petrol- only model and is powered by a 2.0- litre TFSI petrol motor, paired with a seven- speed dual- clutch automatic transmission.

The Jaguar XF is one of the two models that has remained unchanged for a few years now, and thus it does fall a bit short on the features front, compared to the aforementioned cars. It is currently offered with a 2.0- litre Ingenium petrol engine, mated to an 8- speed automatic transmission as standard. But the new E- Class marks the advent of a new generation, introducing more technology and luxury; the powertrains are complemented by a fresh exterior design, creating a captivating presence on the road.

Inside, a plethora of new technology features permeate the cabin, providing a digital atmosphere that's both immersive and intelligent. The new E- Class takes its digital experience to the next level with the all- new Mercedes- Benz User Experience ( MBUX) Superscreen.
