Instruments For A Great Future ( 1)

- • Joy And Thanksgiving

GOD has made an instrument to secure a good future: “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation,” ( Isaiah 12: 3).

Create joy; get excited about tomorrow because He who holds tomorrow in His hands is your God: “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands,” ( Psalms 100: 1). This is a command to ‘ make a joyful noise…’ This is a major step you must take in receiving His promise. Regardless of your feelings, joy has the power to transport you out of spiritual stupor that produces defeat and move you into victory. “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath got him the victory. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice and sing praise,” ( Psalms 98: 1- 4).

“He hath done marvellous things….” It takes joy, excitement to access the marvellous things the Lord has done. God has marvellous things set for you, but joy is the key to open the door. The Bible says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children,” ( Hosea 4: 6). God gave Jericho to Israel, but they possessed it only by sounds of the trumpet and by the shout of joy because it has already been marvellously possessed by God for them ( Joshua 6: 1- 5). In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat formed a mass choir to sing and cause joy among the army because the victory was already theirs, the battle was already won, but they needed joy to enter it.

“It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord and worshipped Him.”

“And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high…

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for His mercy endureth forever. And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten,” ( 2Chronicles 20: 1, 17
