Foundation fetes Lagos residents, promotes good neighbourliness
THE Triafrica Empowerment Foundation has donated 500 bags of 10kg rice to the Igando- Ikotun Local Council Development Area ( LCDA) of Lagos State.
The donation was made under the group's “Feed A Neighbour, Feed A Nation” initiative aimed at meeting needs of the residents in the light of the prevailing hunger crisis in Nigeria .
President of the foundation, who is the founder and Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, said the initiative seeks to alleviate hunger by distributing food to the needy.
He also said the donation was in commemoration of his 63rd birthday.
According to him, “Feed A Neighbour, Feed A Nation” initiative, had earlier distributed items to other centres, including Oniru beach area in Lagos, various locations in Abuja, and Nasarawa Internally Displaced Persons ( IDPS) camps.
Ighodalo expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the initiative, especially individuals who donated generously to make the food distributions possible.
He called on leaders from the realms of politics, religion, corporations, and educational institutions to exemplify values such as righteousness, integrity, transparency, and genuine concern for one another.
"By doing so doing, we can foster justice, unity, sustainable development, and transparency within our society and political landscape.
“To the citizens at large, we encourage everyone to strive for orderliness, obedience, justice, and active participation in the political sphere.
"Let us refrain from engaging in activities that undermine government programmes and policies, such as littering, driving against traffic and obstructing drainage systems. "Additionally, religious leaders are urged to inspire their followers with principles of good governance and nationbuilding, while encouraging daily prayers for the improvement of our nation.
