Political strength without state, people's support amounts to nothing, Fubara tells foes

Tfestering crisis in Rivers State seems to have no end in sight, as Governor Siminalayi Fubara, yesterday, reminded his political foes that whatever political powers they claim to have without the support of the people and the state where they come from amounts to nothing.

Fubara stated this when the leadership of the Inter- Party Advisory Council ( IPAC), Rivers State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Sensei Solsuema Osaro, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

The governor pointed out that no person, who truly loves Rivers State, whether embittered or n ot, will gladly want to burn down the state to achieve personal or political agenda.

He said: "Whatever political strength anybody claims to have amounts to nothing without the state and its people."

Recall that the governor and his estranged godfather , the

Minister of Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been on a political rift since October last year.

Addressing the IPAC team, Fubara assured that the right climate will be created for all political parties to operate so that th e y can engage with the gov ernment and offer credible opposition.

The governor emphasised that it was the best thing to do, especially as the opposition political parties have acknowledg­ed that electi ons are over , and are

resolved to offer the effective support required to advance good governance in the state.
