Terrorist kingpin, Karami, kills bandits’ leader, others in Zamfara

NOTORIOUS terrorist kingpin, Dan Karami ( a. k. a. Gwaska), has reportedly killed bandits’ leader, Kachalla Dan Chaki, and scores of his fighters in an intensified infighting in Zamfara State.

The Guardian gathered that Karami and his goons stormed Chaki’s camp in Dangaraga village, Zurmi Local Council, on April 8, 2024.

Intelligence sources hinted Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, that Karami attacked Chaki after a report filtered that the bandit’s leader was looking for him to avenge the killing of his boss, Sani Dangote.

“Two bandit leaders, Dangote and Lamisodi, notorious for their involvement in kidnapping and murder in Jibia, Batsari in Katsina and parts of Zamfara, were killed in a skirmish with the Karami group on April 7, 2024, in Dumburum, Zamfara.

“The conflict that resulted in their deaths reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a stolen sheep belonging to one Lamo, elder brother to Dangote, who was killed instantly by Karami’s faction.”

On hearing the news, The Guardian learnt, Dangote and his younger brother, Auta, mobilised fighters and headed towards the location for a major confrontation. But Karami was said to have opened fire on them, killing all of them, while some of his fighters also lost their lives. “Karami went further to kill the Assistant Chief Imam of Dumburum and one other person, while two middleranking bandits like Na’ Baddo and Emir, escaped with bullet wounds.

“The continued killing of top bandits of Fulani extraction by Karami, a Hausa, angered the kachallas ( leaders) of the Fulani bandits, who vowed to eliminate all the Hausa bandits from Zamfara.”

Makama reported that on April 9, 2024, bandit leaders from Zamfara and Katsina states held an emergency meeting in Shinfida village of Jibia Local Council of Katsina and resolved to invade Karami’s camp and those of his gangs in Zamfara to avenge the killing of Dangote and others kachallas by Karami.

A major discussion during the meeting was said to be the plan to deploy fighters that would overpower Karami’s fighters.

Ado Allero, Dogo Gide, Sani Fulani, Alhaji Nashingi and Bello Turji had placed their fighters on standby for a major incursion into Karami’s camp.
