Peaceful Sallah in Jos, Katsina as Bago tasks Muslims on Ramadan lessons

Bala Yahaya ( Minna), Isa Abdulsalam­i Ahovi ( Jos) and Danjuma Michael ( Katsina) HE Sallah festivity was celebrated peacefully in Jos/ Bukuru metropolis in Plateau State, yesterday, as there was no incidence of violence or acrimony.

Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque, Lawal Abubakar, who led the Eid prayer at the Ali Kazaure prayer ground, asked God to accept the 30 days of fasting observed by Muslims and reward them with his blessings.

He urged Muslims not to return to their bad habits after Ramadan.

KBashir Datti, who represente­d Governor Caleb Mutfwang, shunned journalist­s, who were waiting to interview him after the prayers.

Security was tightened all over prayer grounds in the metropolis to prevent a breakdown of law and order. ATSINA State Governor, Dikko Radda, said the security situation across the state has greatly improved in recent times.

Radda stated this to newsmen after attending the Eid prayer in Batagarawa Local Council.

He said improvemen­t in the security situation was not only due to the government’s efforts but the people’s prayer also.

He, however, called for more prayers from residents, so that the security situation would quickly be ended, ushering in peace and prosperity in the state.

The governor assured residents of his administra­tion’s commitment towards transformi­ng the state in the coming months.

N Niger State, Governor Mohammed Bago, joined thousands of Muslims that converged on the Central Eid

Prayer ground in Kontagora Local Council to perform the two- unit congregati­onal prayers marking the end of the Ramadan fast and Eid- elFitr celebratio­n.

The governor, in an interview after the prayers, called on the Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons learnt in the month of Ramadan.

He emphasised the need for them to remain selfless and kind, as well as maintain good neighbourl­iness, while sustaining their prayers for peace in the land and for the success of government at the state and federal levels.
