MCodix Pharma Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) with the Olabisi Onabanjo University ( OOU), Ogun State aimed at introducing biosensors and nanotechnology courses to the Department of Chemical Sciences.

Speaking at the official signing of the MOU at the institution, the Chief Operating Officer, Codix Pharma Limited, Mary Ogangwu, said the pharmaceutical firm is honoured to partner with the university to enhance the curriculum of the next generation of students.

She said the organisation believes that it was time to invest in academics, which is in tandem with the requirements of the workplace. “Our partnership holds the promise of a brighter future, not only for the students and university but for the nation at large. Our mission extends beyond financial success to making a meaningful impact in the society. We believe Nigeria has the potential to lead on the global stage, and initiatives like this will propel us forward," she concluded.

In his response, the ViceChancellor, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Prof Johnson Agboola, emphasised the importance of academic innovation, adding that the nation's productivity is directly linked to the innovative output of its academic institutions.

He said there has been a disconnect between academic learning and real- world applications. The Vice- Chancellor said this landmark partnership signifies a step forward in promoting academic- industry collaboration and fostering innovation for national development.

While commending the company for its commitment to bridging this gap, Agboola looks forward to collaborating with other organisations on courses that address fundamental challenges, thereby contributing to a brighter future for the country.
