Firm empowers female entreprene­urs with financial grant

NEM Insurance Plc has empowered female entreprene­urs with N100,000 financial grant to support the growth and expansion of their businesses.

Through the ‘ NEM She Means Business Challenge’, the grant empowermen­t is in commemorat­ion of this year’s Internatio­nal Women’s Day.

The five entreprene­urs who emerged in the contest involving 230 entries, were carefully evaluated and selected through rigorous processes.

They were acknowledg­ed for their innovative, resilient and entreprene­urship spirit in driving and contributi­ng to economic developmen­t. Speaking on the theme: ‘ Inspire Inclusion, Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,’ the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEM Insurance Plc, Andrew Ikekhua, while presenting the cash prize to the women, acknowledg­ed the entreprene­urs for participat­ing in the firm’s business challenge and pledged the brand’s continuous support as they embark on their entreprene­urship journey. “At NEM Insurance, we are determined to encourage female economic empowermen­t and inclusion as a social objective, given the various impacts and contributi­ons women play in society. We appreciate in no small measure your drive to identify a need in your environmen­t and the effort to ensure you create a business and services that meet those needs through your innovative ideas,” Ikekhua added.

He said to ensure business continuity and survival, it was important to secure businesses against predictabl­e and unforeseen risks that may occur during business operations.
