REWARDING HARD WORK, TALENT AND ACHIEVEMENT...

-

What did the future look like 11 years ago? For many that fall in the millenial demographic, back then, they probably heard frequently, “You are the future leader of tomorrow.” The jury is still out on that but what is clear now that it is a continuous process. What is also clear is that today’s young people are not waiting to be given a seat at the table of leaders, decision-making. They are building their own.

At the forefront of predicting, inspiring and empowering these young visionaries, has been an awards body that has been called ‘The Nobel Prize for young Africans’ by the World Bank. Presenting The Future Awards. Now in its 11th year, its one of the longeststanding institutions rewarding hardwork, talent and achievement.

This year, the awards body has come full circle, dialling back to where it first started before it took on a continental ambit - Nigeria. It will be rewarding the best and brighest young people in varied industries from tech, to agriculture, to fashion and design.

The class of and nominees of The Future Awards 2016 are an eclectic bunch. They are a collection of people some of whom you have probably never heard of, and some you might have. This is a beautiful quality about the awards, it rewards those too who work hard in silence, those who would likely never receive recognition elsewhere.

The future of work, of our cities, of our children who will come after us is likely promising if left in the hands of these ones.

The full list of nominees will be unveiled 3PM, December 4th, 2016, on Channels TV, Ebony Life TV and YNaija.com.
