‘THE AFRICAN NEEDLE’
CIS Volt Club, of Children’s International School (CIS) recently organised a Charity Fashion Show themed‘The African Needle’– an initiative of members of the Club. Their aim is to make a difference in the lives of people in the community and the event took place in the school’s ultra-modern hall on its Lekki campus. The student designers from CIS, Government Senior Secondary School Takwa Bay and Maryanne College demonstrated professionalism, creativity and skills in fashion designing. Every design was impeccably modeled by CIS students, who took the time and effort from their busy schedules and academic commitments to volunteer for this good cause. kudos to the following designers for an impactful training and mentorship; Asyian by Ansa Okorafor, karen by Ivie, delavi couture Stella Byll-duncan, Breeze36 urban By Babatunde Afolabi, Stitches palace by Ekundayo Olayinka, Touche by deni oderinde and yakubu Adamu. Blushingirl Tools, also added colour to the event as they perfectly groomed the student-models for the runway. The models, mentored and trained by Tomisin Ariyo exuded excellent gait and confidence as they walked the runway to the admiration of the guests and parents. At the end of the event, the students recorded huge sales from the auction of their designs. Volt Club aims at providing support for the students of Government Senior Secondary School Takwa Bay - a school on a remote island with minimal amenities. The support includes but not limited to the provision of primary power supply to the staff quarters; a staff training programme; desk top computers and the employment of a Computer Science teacher for the next academic year, amongst other support. Volt Club successfully fused Fashion and Charity to promote Education… What a fantastic blend!
