BOUCHRA JARRAR IS LEAVING LANVIN AFTER 16 MONTHS
Bouchra Jarrar is reportedly leaving lanvin after just 16 months at its helm. The artistic director was appointed alber elbaz’s successor in March 2016. In her time at the house, Jarrar showed two collections. She plans to exit before the Spring 2018 season. elbaz’s contract with lanvin was terminated after a dispute with its Taiwan-based owner, Shaw-lan wang in october 2015.
Jarrar leaves amid rumours of tension with lanvin’s chief executive officer, Michéle huiban. Sources believe that the two have been negotiating logistics of the upcoming split with an aim of finalizing its terms. Founded in 1889 by Jeanne lanvin, the house is known for celebrating femininity. In recent years its internal struggles have left its collections without a clear direction.
