SPONSORS’ INTERVIEWS

THISDAY Style - - COVER -

The dynamic duo, Chioma Ikokwu and Kika Osunde, behind The Good Hair brand played an integral role during the Arise Fashion Week. They provided the lustrous and beautiful wigs worn by the models. This is what they had to say about their experience with AFW 2018...

What was the experience like for your brand being a sponsor at Arise Fashion Week?

It was an honour to be a part of one the most renowned fashion shows in Africa with such international exposure and recognition. The experience was exciting and challenging for us at the same time. It was great to see how much hair compliments fashion and seeing our hair on the runway was absolutely fulfilling!

If given the opportunity would you want to partner with AFW again?

It would be a privilege to partner with AFW again. With hair being the major accessory, different outfits require different hairstyles to complete the look so it’s amazing being responsible for the various transformations.

What was the highlight of your experience?

The highlight of our AFW experience was watching Naomi Campbell strut Good Hair on the runway! That was an epic moment for us.

What kind of coverage do you think partnering with AFW provide?

It was a fun experience for all of us but we are most importantly, proud to be a part of such a movement that gives African brands this level of global exposure.

What was the your best hair trend seen walking on the runway?

The best hair trend for us was when we styled all the international models hair into a sleek all back do. We added some brown, silver and gold bobby pins for a more edgy and high fashion look. This was actually an afterthought for us that turned out to be a great and creative decision.

But of course seeing Naomi Campbell with the Good Hair goes without saying. We think it’s safe to say that we made history. Iconic history at that.
