Anew year a new yarn, a new spin to the same old stories. We have all come into this new chapter with hope and aspirations oftentimes having been punched in the stomach by the cruel hands of fate, bent double with pain and limping we decide to try again, we slap together various ingredients to bake hope and garnish with faith ready to soar despite the basket of hurts we carry.
I can tell you like many people have (and they are not wrong) that it is not over till it is over or while there is life there is hope, that if you can think it, you can do it, but it will be remiss of me not to tell you that if you don’t get up and actually “do” something you will end up at the end of this new year with your face in the miry clay.
Guys let’s advice ourselves, we must determine to seize the day and be productive, put the experience of yesterday to use and focus, remember nobody owes you anything and if you find a free meal here and there you will have to pay for it at some point so don’t allow the hunt for a crust of bread to turn you into “beggarsmus”, whilst FFF (friend for food) already connotes failure, refuse to make it your life mantra.
Feed your faith with hard work and starve your fears by check mating negativity, launch out to sea BUT not without your compass, let that God spirit within guide and guard you by telling you where to turn and how to sail.
Don’t sit there expecting manna from heaven, it will come at some point but you need to be “doing” as abracadabra is not part of our daily meal, your brain and brawn must be in sync, remember the Israelites were out there in the wilderness before they were fed supernaturally.
We are expecting our bitter waters to be made sweet and that will happen, but we must change our narratives by connecting to that place in our traverse where the honey can mix with the living waters of our lives. Unfriendly inertia and block laziness, you will need to delete your stored trivia to free up space.
Showcasing talents through various platforms is good but social media cannot be your bible, you cannot be an online junkie or you go wound enh ..... as on there, lies abound.
Stay your eyes on the face of your Creator, ignore all market noise, do not be distracted, pay fear no mind and you will walk on water. Adopt courage, be bold and remember that courage is not the absence of fear but the ability to confront your fears despite the odds.
This world is not our destination and no matter what anyone tells you, no one lives for ever, so work the day and make it count.
Do not believe anyone who tells you that they get life, we are all just pilgrims in progress, and in whatever we do we must not give up on our aspirations. Yesterday bruised us yes, but what separates the men from the boys is the ability to roll with the punches with grace.
Get up, dust up, launch out, despite the pain, refuel and move.
Cancel the pity party and get out your boxing gloves, fight, don’t stay down.
